The Unexpected Kingdom: The Paradox of King Jesus (Matthew 21:1-11)

1. Are there areas in your life in which you would say Jesus is King, but you still hold onto control? How can you practically surrender those areas to King Jesus?

2. Jesus entered Jerusalem with the humility of a servant and the boldness of a King. How should those simultaneous displays of His paradoxical Kingship affect our daily following of Him?

3. What are some of the potential pitfalls that American Christians like us can fall into as we think about living as emissaries of Jesus’ Kingdom? (Hint: Think about how Jesus’ entrance into Jerusalem was aimed at His sacrificial death on the cross instead of overthrowing the pagan empire.)
