At Redeemer, we believe that our light shines as bright around the world as it shines at home. We don’t view “missions” as something that only happens in other countries, and “missionaries” as only those who move to other parts of the globe. Missions is also something that we do in our own neighborhoods, workplaces & cities. We believe that Jesus’ Great Commission in Matthew 28 calls us to be & make disciples of Jesus together. So that means that even though we support mission partners in other nations around the world, we also view reaching our own community as integral to a healthy view of missions. To that end, we seek to think and talk about missions as part of all of our calling, not just those who are “missionaries.”
Being & making disciples together is at the heart of our calling, and at the core of our church culture. Jesus called His followers to "go and make disciples", and that focused calling and mission remain a clear emphasis throughout the rest of the New Testament. Because of this, the phrase "being & making disciples together" is something we try to make common nomenclature in our church.
It’s also our privilege and joy to partner in gospel ministry alongside several families and individuals that the Lord has called to gospel-spreading ministry in other regions of our country and around the world. Our desire is to continue to grow in our ability to support mission partners in prayer, financially, through short-term mission trips, sending out missionaries from our church, and planting other churches throughout our region as the Lord leads us.
